New piece just finished. High carbon wire rope from a North Dakota oil rig is hand forged to shape, acid etched, hardened in oil and tempered.
163 individual wires make up this rusty old drill cable. Full tang, the ironwood handle is slightly undersized to reveal the cable. Handle is figured ironwood with raised and peened copper pins.
Knife fits snug in the hand sewn and tooled heavy leather sheath with copper cones and beads. Neck strap length is easy to adjust.
Over all length of knife is just over 5 inches. Cutting edge 2.25 inches.
